Would you prefer to exercise in the comfort of your own home? Come and join our online exercise classes today!

If you are looking for something to get yourself moving and at the same time build strength, improve flexibility and improve balance, the Uniting Seniors Gym online exercise classes might be for you!

With a wide variety of online classes available, we aim to cater for all levels of experience and ability. The classes will include a variety of whole body strengthening exercises, balance exercises to target your static and dynamic balance, Yoga for Seniors to improve your flexibility and a variety of cardiovascular fitness exercises.

Our classes range from 30 minutes to 1 hour duration and run at various times throughout the week for your convenience.

During the classes you will be instructed by one of our qualified Exercise Physiologists, Exercise Scientists or Personal Trainers.

We also offer an extensive pre-recorded class library that participants can access any time if they are unable to attend a live class.

Please note:

  1. An assessment online or in-person with an Exercise Physiologist is required before commencing.
  2. A medical clearance is required from your GP before commencing.
  3. Some exercises require a chair, TheraBand's and dumbbells however exercises can be completed without weights.

Better Balance - Strength and balance exercises aimed at improving stability and reducing falls risk

  • Tue 2:30pm – 3.30pm
  • Fri 9:00am – 10:00am

Yoga for Seniors - Stretching, strength and relaxation exercises

  • Mon 8:00am – 9:00am 
  • Wed 7:45am – 8.45am

Stepping Strong - A variety of exercises aimed at improving your strength, cardiovascular fitness & coordination

  • Tue 7:45am – 8.45am
  • Wed 9:00am – 10:00am
  • Thu 9:00am – 10:00am

Muscles in Motion - Strength and mobility exercises at a steady pace

  • Tue 9:00am – 10:00am 

Floor and Core - Exercises on the floor aimed to work your core strength, lower back and posture

  • Wed 2:00pm – 3:00pm

Strong Moves - Coordinated movements with music aimed to work your cardiovascular fitness and strength

  • Fri 7:30am – 8:30am

Able Arms - Exercises focusing on strength and stability for your upper body (plus some leg exercises too!)

  • Mon 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Short Burst - 30 minutes of exercise to work your heart and lungs
  • Thu 8:00am – 8:30am 
Bone Boost - Strength, power and impact exercise to build bone density
  • Mon 9:00am – 10:00am

Cost:

All costs below are a monthly cost and include unlimited online class access and access to recorded class library. Discounts apply for pensioners and for those who have had an assessment with My Aged Care.

Private (non-pensioner and no My Aged Care assessment) - $60/month
Pensioner - $50/month
CHSP (My Aged Care Ax completed) - $40/month

Staff can assist interested participants in organising an assessment with My Aged Care.

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

The program is not suitable for the following participants:
- Those unable to follow instructions or who have cognitive impairment/Dementia that does not allow them to follow instructions to be able to exercise safely
- Those unable to mobilise independently
- Those who do not have a safe and clutter-free space in their home to exercise safely

Special requirements or conditions:

Once commencing the classes please ensure the following:
1. Please ensure you have a safe space free of obstacles to exercise.
2. DO NOT exercise if you are feeling unwell or have a recent injury
3. If you experience pain or discomfort during exercise, please stop
4. Ensure you wear supportive footwear and comfortable clothing
5. Ensure you remain hydrated prior to and during exercise
