Program details

Dance4Parkinson's is a 1 hour movement class designed for adults wishing to maintain and improve mobility, health & wellbeing.

For keeping your mind and body active, regardless of mobility, skill or age.

Seated, standing and moving across the floor options!

All are welcome, no dance experience required, meet others, enjoy the music & community connection.

Come along and enjoy gentle EXERCISE in DISGUISE!

Tailored for adults particularly those with Parkinson's, those who have had a stroke and those with low mobility.

Carers, partners and friends welcome.

The session is followed by refreshments for 30 mins with a cuppa and chat for social connection.

* NOTE - facilitator is trained & experienced in dance-based activity for people living with Parkinson's and older adults.

Opening hours:

Tuesdays 11am - 12pm class followed by social time with tea/ coffee in library

Program runs during school term dates throughout the year.

Beautiful venue with state of the art library and cafe on-site with beautiful community hall

Cost:

$15 casual class
Discount for 5 and 10 class passes (buy 10, receive 1 class free)

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

- We ask that all partcipants check with their health/ medical professional first that gentle exercise is appropriate for them to participate in before they attend, particularly after surgery.
- We encourage carers to attend and participate with anyone who has higher needs or mild cognitive impairment. People living with early stage dementia welcome with a carer.
- Walking aids welcome.
- The facilitator and assistant are trained and experienced in Dance for Parkinson's and older adult mobility programs.

Special requirements or conditions:

Wear comfortable clothes, soft shoes if possible or wear non-slip socks (also available onsite). Please bring a water bottle.
