Program details

Walking Basketball is for participants across all ages, genders and abilities and helps maintain and improve health and decrease risk factors associated with sedentary behavior.

Whether you played years ago and want to get back into it, have never touched a ball or want to give something less strenuous a go, Walking Basketball could be the sport for you. 

Walking Basketball involves 45 minutes of light exercise and 45 minutes of socialising. 

There is no running or jumping involved and is perfect for older players, those coming back from injury or those trying to avoid pressure on the joints. No prerequisites required. 

Morning tea is provided weekly. 

Opening hours:

Tuesdays 10-11am

During school term only.

Program is 9 weeks of the school term; dates can be found on the website. 

Cost:

$50.00 for the 9 week term.

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

- Those with walking aids or who don't have good balance.
- Those recovering from surgery that cannot have contact with others.

Special requirements or conditions:

Clothes to exercise in and sneakers.

Beginner
