Program details

The Fitter and Stronger class is a good way to challenge your total body fitness while you’re having fun.  The class includes a warm-up, aerobics, strength exercises using resistance equipment and a cool-down with stretching and relaxation.  These classes are designed to improve your strength, fitness, flexibility & balance.

Opening hours:

The Fitter & Stronger class at Ashfield runs from 9:30am to 10:30am. Please note that the class does not take place on public holidays.

Cost:

Cost per term: $100.00

Target age:

50 Plus, 55 Plus, 60 Plus, 65 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

Certain participants may not be suitable for the Fitter & Stronger program if they have significant mobility limitations, are recovering from recent surgery, or have medical conditions that prevent them from safely engaging in physical activity. Individuals who are unable to safely performs exercises that involve standing, balance or resistance training may need to consider a more tailored program. Additionally, participants with severe health conditions that affect their cardiovascular or musculoskeletal systems may need to consult with their healthcare provider before joining the program. We recommend that any potential participants speak with their doctor to ensure the program is appropriate for their current health status. Modifications can be made for those with specific needs, but a basic level of physical ability and mobility is necessary to fully participate in the exercises.

Special requirements or conditions:

The program has a few basic requirements to ensure comfort and safety during the sessions. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of movement. Supportive, closed-toe shoes are essential for safety during standing and resistance exercises. It's also important to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the session.

Special directions:

The Civic Centre in Ashfield is located near the Ashfield Railway Station, which is nearby to the Council and is approximately about 2 - 3 minute walk. Vehicle parking is also available at Ashfield Mall.
