Program details

Stepping On is a seven-week group-based program designed for people who are living at home and have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling.

Stepping On is free for adults over the age of 65 years or Aboriginal adults over the age of 45 years. 

It covers a range of issues, including falls and risk, strength and balance exercises, home hazards, safe footwear, vision and falls, safety in public places and community mobility. The program is delivered in weekly two-hour sessions for seven weeks.

Programs are run throughout the year on an as-needed basis.  

Once you complete your registration, a Stepping On team member will contact you when there is a program available in your local area. Please note that programs run for 7-weeks and it may take some time for a program to become available near you.

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

People need to walk independently or with a walking stick. Not suitable for anyone with cognitive impairment or progressive neurological disease

Special requirements or conditions:

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear for gentle group exercises.
