Program details

This is a 1 hour class where you warm up with gentle exercises and stretching before using resistance bands to improve muscle strength, balance and coordination. 

The class should make you warm but not exhausted. This will also depend on the strength of the resistance bands you choose. 

Music is played throughout the class, but it is not too loud. 

It is held in the Auditorium which is air conditioned.

Pay on entry.

Opening hours:

  • Tuesdays 1pm  - 2pm
Excluding the last 2 weeks of December, first 2 weeks of January and the Tuesday of Melbourne Cup.

Cost:

$8 per class. First class free.
Become a member of Toukley 50 Plus Leisure and Learning after the first class.
$10 membership is renewed annually.
Please show your membership at Reception as you enter for the class.

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

While the class is not strenuous if they have some mobility, participants will need to be able to walk unaided and to be able to pace themselves to suit the activity. We do not have the facility to cater for people with dementia or cognitive impairment.

Special requirements or conditions:

Bring your own water bottle, but a water bubbler is available if you forget.
Wear comfortable clothes, gym clothes are usual.
Resistance bands are available, but bring your own if you prefer.

We can collect participants on our bus, if they live within 10 km of the Centre, for a small fee.
Call our Reception to discuss this and for bookings if approved.

Special directions:

3 hour free parking is available in Coles carpark in Toukley.
The entry to our Centre faces Coles and is along a pathway beside the Health Department building.
