Program details

Move and Stay Well (MASW) is conducted in the physiotherapy gym at War Memorial Hospital. The aim of MASW is guide participants through a circuit of exercise stations specifically designed for the frail elderly.  Classes are focused on reducing fall risk, improving mobility, confidence, ability, and ease to do everyday tasks, as well as strength, balance, and fitness.

MASW is short-term and offered to boost activity levels, teach suitable exercises, and reach for personal goals

Participants attend 2 sessions/week with 6-8 participants for 4 weeks.  Options for continuing suitable exercises are explored either with a community group or following a home exercise program.

Participants will need Doctors referral to the WMH outpatients physiotherapy service.  Referrals are sent to the Northern Network Access Referral Centre (NNARC)  TEL: 9369 0400 FAX: 9369 0101 EMAIL: SESLHD-NNARC@health.nsw.gov.au
