Program details

Aqua Func is a 45 minute water based aqua aerobics style class, with a low to moderate intensity rating based on how hard you choose to work.

Delivered in an outdoor heated swimming pool at 27 degrees Celsius. Not to be confused with Hydrotherapy, which is delivered at 33 to 36 degrees Celsius and a low intensity rating.

This class is delivered in 1.3 meter depth of water and you are not required to be a swimmer, but you will need to be able to stand in water of this depth.

There is minimal impact with the floor and walls of the pool. Research has proven aqua exercise improves strength gains, along with cardiovascular functioning and respiratory health, while being supported by the water and having a lower impact on your joints and any chronic joint ailments. 

Varying levels for all activities are offered in order for you to control the intensity and progress as your fitness improves.

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am to 9.45 am.

Cost:

Seniors casual $12.75.
Seniors book of 8 visits $80.00.
Casual visit $15.00.

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

Those needing chair lift into the swimming pool or ramp access into the swimming pool.

Special requirements or conditions:

Participants will need their own towel. Showers and toilets at the venue.
