Program details
This Dance-based exercise class is suitable for people who are 50+ with impaired mobility. This class will be helpful if you are recovering from injury, illness, have experienced chronic pain or require assistance to walk and move. The dance class begins seated, focusing on upper body mobility and coordination; before moving to standing positions (with assistance if required) utilising hand railings (ballet barrés) to help guide and improve balance, proprioception and build lower body strength, stability and mobility.

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:
If it is not possible for you to move unassisted, please ask a carer or family member to attend the class with you. They can participate in the class for free and provide you with the specific assistance that you may need.
Special requirements or conditions:
Comfortable clothing and footwear (or slip-free socks) Bring a water bottle and hand towel.

Special directions:
The building is wheel chair accessible and friendly for those with mobility issues. Parking is at the rear of the building. When you arrive at the Bay Pavilions and enter the building from the rear entrance, turn left and head towards the dance rehearsal studio (next to the theatre). If you are unsure where to go, please ask the staff at the service desk to direct you to the ‘Wellbeing In Motion’ dance classes.
