Functional Fitness for over 50's.

Build muscle strength and confidence in these small group classes designed to help you build strength, improve balance, coordination and stability.

Resistance training helps reduce age-related muscular atrophy improving bone health, joint stability, metabolism, and overall energy. It reduces the risk of falls, improves range of movement, in a friendly non-intimidating environment. 

GP clearance is required if a participant is considered at risk after completing stage 1 of the ESSA pre-exercise screening form.

Opening hours:

Class Times 

  • Monday 9.30am and 11.00am 
  • Tuesday 8.30am and 10.00am 
  • Wednesday 10.00am 
  • Friday 9.30am and 11.00am 
Classes not available on public holidays 

Cost:

$25.00 per class, $22.50 if attending twice a week

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

Suitability is dependent on the degree of impairment. Everyone can benefit from these classes and modifications are made dependent on each individual's ability. However, if the impairment means the individual requires more attention and consequently detracts from the level of care and guidance given to other members of the class, they may be unable to attend in the future or may be asked to bring a carer to support them (i.e. dementia)

Special requirements or conditions:

Wear training shoes, loose clothing, water, your own mat and a towel.

Leader qualifications:

Fitness Leader - Accredited

Fitness Leader - Registered Cert III

Fitness Leader - Registered Cert IV
