Program details

Exercising in warm water is one of the most comfortable and effective ways that a person with arthritis can exercise. The buoyancy of the water supports the body, taking the weight off inflamed and painful joints. The warmth of the water helps tight joints to loosen up and relax, easing soreness and soothing any pain.

The role of the water in your exercise class is two-fold – not only does it soothe and support your body, it also offers resistance to your movements, acting somewhat like a weight to help strengthen your muscles while you exercise.

Classes are held at 

  • Tuesday 11.00am
  • Tuesday 1.00pm
  • Wednesday 12.00pm
  • Thursday 5.00pm

Cost:

Cost per term: $220 per 10 week term

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

- People with dementia or cognitive impairment
- People with moderate to severe bladder or bowel incontinence
- People with uncontrolled blood pressure or cardiac problems
- People with infective skin conditions

Special requirements or conditions:

Participants need to bring swimming clothes, a towel and a bottle of water.

Beginner

Leader qualifications:

Fitness Leader - Registered Cert IV

Physiotherapist

Healthcare clearance requirement:
